NATURAL DREAMS AND THE SACRED ENCOUNTER
Rodger Kamenetz will distill the essence of the natural dreamwork approach to finding the healing images and healing encounters available in our dreams. The focus is on certain powerful images that act as medicine, and on certain powerful presences who act as healers. Drawing on fourteen years of experience working with clients he will illustrate how to distinguish our old worn out stories from the new healing events that dreams offer us.
Marian Gay will share ways contemplative practices can arise from sacred encounters in dreams, using specific dream moments. She will offer a guided meditation that brings dream healing into waking life.
Saturday Workshop : "5D Dreaming" (was open to the first 12 registrants, now closed)
Together Rodger and Marian will lead a small group of dreamers into the primary imagination dreams offer, by paying careful attention to all the dimensions of dreaming. This group technique, 5 dimensional dreaming, focuses carefully on the four dimensions of space-time and the fifth dimension of feeling that belong to our experience of dreams. By working with a group, the potency of dreams is amplified, and their full dimension for healing is brought home.
To be part of this workshop, you will need to send 3-4 dreams on no more than two pages. All work will be held confidential by the group.Bios
Rodger Kamenetz is the author of books of poetry and prose, including the best-selling The Jew in the Lotus and The History of Last Night's Dream, which Oprah Winfrey featured on her Soul Series. He is Professor Emeritus of English and Religious Studies at LSU, where he founded the MFA in Creative Writing and the Jewish Studies Minor. He has been working with dream clients one on one and in groups since 2003. He looks for the healing moments in dreams, with careful observation of time space and feeling, an approach he calls Natural Dreamwork.
