THE SCHOOL FOR CONTEMPLATIVE LIVING
Our Mission
"Rebuilding Soul and Spirit in New Orleans
by Listening in Stillness, Serving in Joy!"
Henry Nouwen said,
"The central question at the heart ofChristian leadership is,
are the leaders of the future truly men and women of God,
people with an ardent desire
to dwell in God・s presence,
to listen to God・s voice,
to look at God・s beauty,
to touch God・s incarnate Word,
and to taste fully God・s infinite goodness?"
Listening in Stillness

Cultivating a contemplative presence for God involves daily practice of spiritual disciplines in solitude.
This, for us, is the inward journey. Because the journey cannot be completed alone, we practice with a
community of supportive friends. Together we seek to live a consecrated life:
practicing oneness with God in solitude and in community.
Serving in Joy!

Presence for God brings us into God's heart for the world.
The result is action--a response of serving. This for us is the outward journey.
We serve through our chosen vocations and through shared missions.
